Beyond Reporting: Using Demographic Data in Patient and Client Care

Mount Sinai Hospital hosted our fourth health equity symposium “Beyond Reporting: Using Demographic Data in Patient and Client Care” on March 11, 2015, bringing together hospitals, community health centres, and LHIN representatives to share Toronto-based stories of  the collection and use of patient and client reported demographic data.  Speakers shared  experience and strategies on the use of demographic data to improve care at the clinical (point of care) level and organizational level (planning). The event’s keynote speaker, Rachel Epstein, discussed barriers faced by LGBTQI patients and clients in accessing health care and shared strategies for LGBTQI inclusion, including Mount Sinai’s  Are you an ALLY? Campaign.
