Sinai Health’s Measuring Health Equity team hosted a webinar titled: “From Collection to Action: Using Demographic Data to Measure and Monitor Quality”. The webinar was designed for staff working in Toronto Central LHIN hospitals.
In this one hour webinar, Caroline Bennett-AbuAyyash, Health Equity Specialist – Sinai Health’s Human Rights & Health Equity office, provided information and illustrations on how hospitals can use demographic data to embed equity in healthcare quality reporting, develop equity dashboards, and inform planning.
The webinar also included the results of our environmental scan on how other organizations have used data in quality and planning, ‘stories’ from the Toronto Central LHIN, and tips on how one can use the data in ways that fit with one’s organizations’ goals.
Target Audience:
• Demographic data collection project leads
• Individuals who would support pulling demographic data and using it in various analyses such as stratification, developing dashboards, etc. (e.g. DMCs, decision support)
• Clinical leads and individuals who work in planning, quality, or strategy and interested in the potential uses of data to improve quality and advance equity and
• Leaders who are interested in learning more about the use of patient/client demographic data at the organizational level
